About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior-Level Civil CAD Designer with a background in design of water projects including: dams, embankments, appurtenant infrastructure, site civil design and grading, and earthwork projects with the technical skills and desire to primarily support our Water Business Group and provide services, as needed, to our Building Engineering Services Group.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of conceptual, permit, bid, and construction level drawings.
  • Development of complete plans, including site layouts, grading plans, profiles, sections, alignments, utility layouts, drainage plans, and details under the direction of project engineers.
  • Perform routine drawing assignments requiring application of standard drafting techniques and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects.
  • Annotative support.
  • Mentor and coach CAD Designers across the organization to improve drafting skills and help standardize drafting standards in the WBG.
  • Perform other general support duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge and experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with the development of drafting standards, grading, alignments, profiles, sections, volume estimates, structural details, utilities (storm, water, sanitary), and construction documents.
  • Data compilation, generation of spreadsheets, and technical calculations.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years related industry experience.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tools.
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential.
  • Leadership and mentoring skillsets required.

  • High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to organize, schedule, prioritize, and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • A good understanding of surveying, grading, topography, and drainage patterns.
  • Proven team player who takes initiative and is confident in their technical skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adjust to project needs, evolving standards, and design approaches.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
  • Strong problem solving and learning ability.
  • Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
