Job Overview
Opened in 2018, Amira Choice of Plymouth is one of our newest senior communities. Located at the intersection of Old Rockford Road and Highway 55 in the Northwest suburb of Plymouth, MN, we offer 94 units of Independent, Assisted Living as well as Memory Care and Care Suites. Responsibilities
- Supports key culinary operations by assisting with health inspections, menu planning, and the creation of daily prep task sheets.
- Prepare and cook food items to specified temperatures, following standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality, nutritional value, and proper portioning.
- Weigh and measure ingredients per standardized recipes.
- Assemble meals and bakery items within designated time frames, complete daily preparation tasks accurately, and assist and coordinate special events with the Culinary Director.
- Demonstrates the ability to supervise kitchen staff, manage daily operations and customer service in the supervisor’s absence, and effectively communicate resident and guest feedback on meal and service quality.
- Oversee kitchen operations in the Culinary Director’s absence by supervising staff, ensuring service standards, coaching team members, managing customer feedback, and handling scheduling (call-ins), evaluations, and order verification.
Requirements
- 1 year Food Protection Manager Certification issued by an ANAB-CFP accredited food sanitation program within 90 days
- PREFERRED: Associate of Arts in Food Service or Vocational/Technical Training
- Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification issued by the State of MN for locations in state of MN
Qualifications
- Proper knowledge and preparation of texturized diets utilizing International Dysphagia Diet Standardization (IDDSI) standards.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
Schedule
The Senior Chef schedule includes 72 hours per pay period, day/evening shifts, and weekends as needed.
