Position Specific Description: An ideal candidate for the Senior Category Specialist would need to blend negotiation expertise with disciplined execution and attention to detail to drive strong commercial outcomes. The candidate operates with a clear bias for action, taking ownership of complex sourcing initiatives and delivering results in fast-paced environments.
Job Overview: This role develops and refines defined category strategies for critical and/or more complex categories. Employees in this role lead negotiations and identify improvements to secure cost savings and improve quality and efficiency. An individual in this role would also be expected to mentor category specialists and establishes benchmarks and expectations for category strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develops and refines category sourcing strategy
- Conduct market and spend analysis
- Leads negotiations with key suppliers
- Aligns with BUs to collect requirements
- Develops and maintains strategic relationships with critical suppliers
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 4+ years

- Master's Degree (Preferred)
