As a Sr. Capabilities Development Engineer, you'll be empowered to create "new realities" and pioneer solutions that break boundaries. You will support a high-priority, highly visible malware analysis modernization program, working with a team of dynamic and innovative engineers to develop new capabilities for the virtual malware containment enclave and modernize malware enrichment services.
TKO provides systems engineering, software development, data science, and cloud development and engineering services to the Cyber Infrastructure Solutions customer. The services enable Data Transformation, Malware Analysis, and Cyber Threat Intelligence processing and sharing capabilities, fulfilling mission objectives and offering actionable information to detect and mitigate cyber threats. The contract has several locations in Maryland and a small contingent in Texas.
Responsibilities
- Develop new capabilities supporting the virtual malware containment enclave.
- Support the modernization of malware enrichment services.
- Design and develop large-scale, high-performance applications.
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
- Develop high-quality, efficient, and testable code.
- Debug complex, system-wide issues.
- Multitask and pivot to different tasks quickly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus twenty (20) years’ experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with system design and developing large-scale, high-performance applications.
- Kubernetes experience.
- Experience with Message Broker Software (e.g., RabbitMQ).
- Proficiency in Java (backend focus, no front-end necessary) and REST.
- Experience with Atlassian tools and Git.
- Experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse IDE.
- Current TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required.

For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) for incidental absences and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $166,900.00 - $309,900.00. The salary offered considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market/location/business considerations.
