Senior CAD Technician – Civil Designer

About the role

This position will be responsible for CAD design using AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare figures, maps, cross-sections, and design drawings for a variety of projects in municipal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with assigned engineer(s) to assist in development of designs and preparation of studies and reports.
• Prepare drawings, figures, or base maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D & Revit
• Absorb and reduce field survey data. Will require travel over uneven and sloping surface
• Absorb and prepare quantity take-offs for cost estimates
• Interpret, manipulate, and plot field survey and topographic data
• Develop and utilize three-dimensional terrain models to produce cross-sections and volume computations.
• Prepare easement and property descriptions and drawings. Obtain deed and tax map information as needed

Requirements

• Associates degree in drafting/design and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years experience designing using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Revit
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (ability to work effectively with clients, regulators/reviewers, peers, support staff)
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
