Senior CAD Designer Civil 3D and Revit Water/Wastewater and Utility Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior CAD Designer to join our Water/Wastewater team in one of our growing Florida East offices (Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Boca Raton).

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of water and wastewater projects, including pipeline, pump stations, treatment plants, and studies.
  • Leverage your Autodesk Civil 3D experience to produce plans primarily using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers on pipeline, pump station, and treatment plant projects.
  • Manage project tasks and coordinate with other CAD staff.
  • Produce plans, profiles, cross-sections, elevations, structure sections, construction details, references, and perspective drawings.
  • Manage CAD drawing files for production, deliverables, and archiving.
  • Cook up with teams outside of Florida East, as needed, to support other McKim & Creed projects.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Revit, including model development, views, sheets, families, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • A strong understanding of civil construction drawings, terminology, and drafting standards.
  • Experience preparing plan-and-profile drawings and underground utility designs.
  • The ability to interpret survey data, engineering calculations, sketches, and design markups.
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers and other design professionals.
  • A methodical and consistent approach to your work, with the ability to adapt to a variety of projects and priorities.
  • Effective self-scheduling, organization, and coordination within a project team environment.
  • Technical design skills supporting teams outside of Florida East, as needed, to support other McKim & Creed projects.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • College-level CAD classes are a plus.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand, coordinate, and execute tasks assigned by project managers and engineers.
  • Experience with design and project-support software, such as Autodesk Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
