Senior Buyer I (Temp)
Position Summary
The Senior Buyer Pool is responsible for managing the procurement of both medical and non-medical supplies, equipment, and services to meet the hospital's needs, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining optimal stock levels. This role involves establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and suppliers, evaluating their performance based on quality, cost, and delivery reliability. The Senior Buyer Pool negotiates pricing and shipping terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement while ensuring compliance with hospital purchasing policies and agreements, working closely with the Supply Chain Contracting team.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; Or, equivalent work experience equal to 8 years healthcare procurement experience.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with hospital-specific inventory management or procurement platforms is a plus.
Knowledge: Understanding medical supplies, equipment, and regulatory standards in the healthcare industry. Knowledge of supply chain best practices and procurement software systems.
Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills Excellent organizational, critical reasoning and time-management abilities Proficiency with procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other supply chain management tools) Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed purchasing decisions Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Professional certifications such as Certified Materials Resource Planner (CMRP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are preferred.
