Senior Buyer - Culinary
About the role
Play a key role in the procurement for our culinary department including large industrial appliances and merchandising equipment, to small wares like spatulas, whisks, and plates… as well as large quantities of food and consumables.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our chefs and other stakeholders (including the catering, events, facilities, and accounting teams)
- Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with a variety of vendors
- Sourcing locally whenever possible and working with a variety of purveyors, from local farmers to national wholesalers, to strike the right balance between quality, sustainability, and cost
Requirements
- Experience with Excel and Access
- Willingness to relocate to the Madison, WI area (reimbursed)
- Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Qualifications
- Equipment procurement experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Skills
- Knowledge of local and national suppliers
- Ability to manage vendor relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
