About the role

Support the Site Procurement Organization in the development of a professional Procurement Function and assume all commercial aspects of the acquisition of goods and services within a given category of spend for the UUSA operation. Work with relevant customers/stakeholders and Procurement Manager in the development and execution of the customer-aligned and integrated category plan(s).

Develop and deliver long-term sustainable value from UUSA’s external spend within defined categories of expenditure in alignment with Group plans. As a member of a global category team, actively contribute to the development and execution of the category plan and associated projects to derive optimal value from the supply chain and disseminate best practices within Urenco.

Responsibilities

Sourcing/Category Management

  • Closely liaise with the Group Category Management Teams to ensure best practices are shared across the company and that UUSA plans are fully aligned with Group plans.
  • Lead the development of medium to long-term UUSA Category Plans to provide clarity on vision, strategy, and implementation processes ensuring value delivery (lower costs, mitigated risk, supply assurance) through detailed understanding of business requirements, supply market dynamics, and TCO impacts.
  • Complete projects in accordance with strategic alliances to drive optimal value in supplier deliveries based on program, schedule, and budget, at minimum.
  • Deliver the annual Procurement Value Plan through category plan project realization and support to business partner-nominated projects to meet site needs.
  • Share knowledge of new and modified products/services in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Anticipate risks to ensure they are appropriately identified and managed on behalf of Urenco and its interests.
  • Lead supplier visits and surveillances to evaluate potential and existing suppliers and ensure they comply with Urenco procedures and policies, fostering mutually rewarding relationships.
  • Advise/lead on bid evaluation approach to validate supplier selection.
  • Apply best and effective practices in all areas of responsibilities to promote first-rate procurement and supply chain practices.
  • Cover all other commercial aspects of goods and services acquisitions within a given category of spend for the UUSA operation.

Supplier Management

  • Develop, evaluate, and manage internal relationships to optimize Urenco’s external legal, business, and financial positions.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of preferred supplier lists.
  • Demonstrate effective and measurable supplier management methods and performance metrics applied to all high-risk and/or high-value suppliers through supplier management programs.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and consult with all operating and buying sites for their requirements to ensure Urenco’s global demand is leveraged.
  • Effectively resolve issues/problems with suppliers such as relationship, quality, cost, and delivery, implementing corrective actions/measures for improvements.

Contract Management

  • Lead the development, review, negotiation, execution, management, and documentation of significant and complex contracts and contract amendments in accordance with Urenco’s policies and procedures to drive value.
  • Develop and plan supplier relationship and contract management to ensure suppliers meet their contractual obligations, and the value expected from a contract is fully delivered throughout the lifecycle.
  • Continually improve the values of contracts to capture optimal, sustainable cost-savings for Urenco.
  • Manage commercial negotiations with relevant suppliers and liaise with stakeholders and legal to ensure favorable commercial terms which mitigate business risk.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, business partners, and senior leaders to gain support and cooperation in the delivery of sourcing projects and the category plan to drive savings and performance improvement.
  • Work with customers to ensure an effective, collaborative view of business strategies, portfolios of projects, annual/project budgets, and priorities with realistic expectations are formed on all sides.
  • Manage Business Partner Relationships to ensure their needs are fully met and change management is efficient and effective.
  • Work with Group and Site Category Lead peers to ensure the category plans are fully integrated and consistent with business needs.
  • Ensure that full and appropriate management information is shared and leveraged across the category network.
  • Place contracts efficiently and timely to support plant needs.
  • Maintain outstanding customer engagement through Measures of Success utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum qualification).
  • 7+ years of procurement experience including 3+ years supplier management experience and 2+ years’ experience in strategic procurement.
  • Must maintain Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) Certification or obtain and maintain Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) Certification or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • 10+ years’ experience in procurement/supply chain management.

Job Details

Work Location: Eunice, NM - Hybrid 75/25.

Work Schedule: 9/80 professional work schedule, some nights/weekends may be required.

Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required.

Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and a L or Q level security clearance.

Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.

Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

Pay

Compensation starting at: $98,761 - $117,573 / year and up, dependent on candidate.
