About the Role

Tate is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. The role develops supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and supports supply chain performance, contributing to cost savings, supply continuity, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for adhering to the Employee Handbook, Group Code of Conduct, and other applicable company policies and procedures. They will maintain awareness of the requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS) and report on unsafe acts, incidents, and quality issues. The role will also participate in required training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Own procurement performance by managing sourcing activities and supplier relationships effectively
  • Source materials and services aligned with quality, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost and value
  • Manage supplier performance and address issues related to quality or delivery
  • Ensure timely placement and tracking of purchase orders to support production needs
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply
  • Analyse spend data to identify cost reduction opportunities and sourcing strategies
  • Evaluate supplier options to improve cost, quality, and service performance
  • Support implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier consolidation efforts
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions
  • Collaborate with finance and operations to align procurement with business objectives
  • Ensure procurement activities align with budget and cost control targets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles required
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and sourcing strategies
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools required
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
  • Ability to drive cost savings and process improvements effectively
