Job Responsibilities
- Lead procurement for assigned domestic and global product lines with full ownership of supplier relationships.
- Influence cross-functional decisions and work directly with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Service.
- Provide guidance to Buyers or junior team members regarding the procurement processes, reporting, and supplier management to ensure consistent execution and professional development.
- Drive process improvements, SOP updates, and item master governance, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate with Product Mangers regarding End-of-Life (EOL) product planning to ensure smooth product transitions.
- Build Supply Chain visibility and insights using Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and Power BI.
- Play a key role in audit readiness, maintaining quality-first documentation.
- Manage manual reporting, dashboards, data updates, and follow-up, including coordination with contract suppliers (e.g., PCBA manufacturers), while navigating evolving processes across departments.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive procurement experience in manufacturing; medical device experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or Industrial Engineering.
- Comfortable owning strategic or high-risk supplies (contract manufacturers, PCBA, critical component suppliers) and skilled at managing escalation paths for supply disruptions.
- Global supply chain experience, including international logistics and customs (to include Tariffs/HTS Codes).
- Experienced in supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and risk mitigation.
- Familiar with regulatory compliance (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, MDSAP).
- Capable of maintaining accurate reporting, data updates, and follow-up in situations where other departments may be working toward fully standardized processes.
- Have a strong cross-functional business acumen and understanding of how all departments work together within the organization.
- Analytical, proactive, and persistent with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Collaborate with Engineering, QA and R&D during new product development to lead supply readiness for NPIs or product changes.
- Oversee Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory, driving strategies to reduce waste, optimize working capital, and coordinate disposition with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organization skill set with the ability to re-prioritize and/or pivot.
