Our Space division in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Sr. Buyer to join our dynamic team. The Sr. Buyer will have primary procurement responsibilities for multiple business areas, supporting Assembly & Test and other functions. This role requires a mix of strategic supplier development and tactical day-to-day buying activities to ensure program schedules are met and cost, quality, and delivery targets are achieved. As our Sr. Buyer, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for: Acting as a procurement leader within the organization representing supply chainCreating and executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodity/categoriesNegotiating supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and risk reductionManaging supplier performance, on-time delivery and quality metrics; escalating and resolving supplier issuesCollaborating with critical functions, planning, production, and engineering, to support component gating and kit releasesConducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans for material and supplier risksPerforming data-driven analyses and trend analyses to identify opportunities and forecast needsPlacing and expediting purchase orders; monitoring PO status and delivery datesProviding reliable completion and delivery dates to internal stakeholdersSupporting master planning with basic forecasting inputs and procurement lead-time updatesLeading or participating in cross-functional problem-solving initiatives to remove supply constraintsParticipating in or leading continuous improvement activities for the procurement function or business unitMentoring junior buyers and contributing to team developmentCreation of Sole Source Justification and Price Analysis documents in support of Government DFAR regulations To be considered for the Sr. Buyer role, you will need to bring with you: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain (or similar relevant field of study) with a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar, supply chain/procurement/operations focused OR associate’s degree in business, Analytics, or a related field, and 5 years’ experienceStrong communication and organizational skillsStrong sense of urgencyPrior experience in a complex manufacturing environment; Aerospace/Defense-specific industry experience preferredKnowledge of procurement processes including PO placement and schedule management.Knowledge of/experience with FAR/DFAR strongly preferred.Experience sourcing Electronic Components It would also be ideal if you had the following preferred qualifications: Any advanced degree or professional certifications are a plusExperience with PowerBI, Advanced skills in Excel and MBSExperience in supporting lean manufacturing How We Care For You Financial Rewards: great compensation package, annual profit sharing, matching 401k and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts Work/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance Health & Wellbeing: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages Professional Skills Development: Tuition Assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs Collaborative and Welcoming Workplace: Inclusive culture rooted in our values, enhanced by Employee Resource Groups, and team-building activities. Salary Range Transparency Phoenix, AZ $60,500.00–$90,000.00 Annually Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
