About the role
We are a growing OEM supplier located in Morristown, TN.
Responsibilities
Primary Job Functions (75%) – Supply Departmental Functions
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities for assigned commodity categories.
- Drive cost reduction strategies and monitor purchasing performance to meet annual targets.
- Select, evaluate, and develop suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, development, and management performance.
- Monitor supplier corrective actions and drive resolution of quality and delivery issues.
- Develop cost estimates for new product designs and support pricing reviews.
- Track standard cost variances and support PPV analysis and resolution.
- Assist in resolving supplier-related technical issues involving form, fit, and function.
- Support engineering changes, product launches, and cost-down initiatives, coordinating testing with R&D when necessary.
Secondary Job Functions (25%) – Hierarchical / Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Buyers and Procurement Associates, providing ongoing performance feedback and coaching.
- Work closely with the Senior Supply Chain Manager to align sourcing activities with departmental goals and timelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance procurement efficiency and cost savings.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings related to supplier management, product development, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field is required.
- Seven to ten years’ purchasing experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience with MAPICS, AS400 systems, and Microsoft Office is required.
- Strong multitasking, communication, and supplier negotiation skills are required.
Pay
$75,000 – $90,000 per year
