About the role

This position is part of Fluor’s Advanced Technology and Life Sciences business line. You will execute purchasing activities for critical engineered equipment and major bulk materials in accordance with project requirements and material management plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bid packages, manage bidder communications and clarification meetings, and administer quotation timelines
• Conduct commercial bid evaluations assessing pricing, terms, delivery, compliance, and risk against project baseline documents
• Issue purchase orders and manage them through the full lifecycle, including change orders, price adjustments, and supplier exceptions
• Negotiate and recommend resolutions to terms and conditions exceptions
• Negotiate and provide recommendations for final resolution to any claim-related items regarding material
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity
• Validate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and other project stakeholders
• Plan and organize your own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
• Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Travel as needed for business-related matters
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field of study and eight years of work-related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve years if non-degreed (some locations may have additional or different qualifications)
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in English (read, write, and speak)
• Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
• Experience primarily in material management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong computer literacy and skills
• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills

Pay

Salary range: $92,000.00 – $171,000.00. The market rate for this role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; final salary is determined by candidate qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Background checks, including education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verification, and Global Watchlist screening, are part of the conditional offer process.
