Senior Buyer
Dauch is looking for a Senior Buyer to join our hybrid team at our World Headquarters in Detroit, MI.
About the role
The Senior Buyer facilitates the purchase of materials, equipment, and services by clarifying requirements, soliciting bids, evaluating quotations, and selecting suppliers for products and services above the bid threshold or outside the global category-management sourcing process.
This role executes both technical and administrative buys, prioritizing complex and strategic purchases. Responsibilities include market and supply-base analysis, spend analysis, basic landed cost calculations, and what-if scenario building aligned with the sourcing process. The Senior Buyer supports Global Category Management teams, contributes to cross-functional strategy development, and oversees tender execution and material ordering.
Responsibilities
- Execute technical and administrative buys, focusing on strategic and high-priority purchases.
- Perform market and supply-base analysis, spend analysis, and landed cost calculations.
- Build what-if scenarios to support sourcing decisions.
- Support Global Category Management teams in developing and executing category and sourcing strategies.
- Oversee the ordering of materials and supplies from suppliers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA/BS plus 5–9 years of professional experience, or an advanced degree plus 3–7 years of professional experience.
