Senior Buyer

Location: East Haven, CT Schedule: Full-time onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Salary: $100,000+ with flexibility for the right candidate Bonus: 7% bonus + profit-sharing opportunity We are working with a long-standing, financially stable manufacturer looking to add a Senior Buyer to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong manufacturing experience who enjoys managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and working closely with engineering and operations. Senior Buyer Responsibilities Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase orders, vendor management, expediting, and inventory requirements.Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with domestic and international suppliers.Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring quality, cost, and on-time delivery.Manage international purchasing and supply chain activities, including shipping logistics and order status.Manage annual and semi-annual blanket orders.Work closely with manufacturing and engineering to resolve supplier and quality issues.Review inventory levels and purchasing requirements through the company's ERP system.Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies.Follow ISO 9001 procedures and assist with continuous improvement of purchasing processes.Travel internationally approximately twice per year, including trips to China and India. Senior Buyer Qualifications 5–7 years of purchasing/buyer experience within a manufacturing environment.Experience working with machined and fabricated parts.Strong vendor management, communication, and price negotiation skills.Ability to read and understand mechanical/engineering drawings.Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, inventory, and cost control.ERP/MPS experience within a manufacturing environment.Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.Ability and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
