About the role
The Senior Purchasing Analyst is a key member of the Finance organization, ensuring the timely and efficient purchase of goods and services. This role serves as a strategic partner to the business, providing purchasing guidance and support to designated functional areas. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver purchasing solutions that enable scientific and operational progress, while optimizing supplier performance and pricing.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Verona, WI or San Diego, CA, requiring 5 days a week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Partner with assigned departments to understand purchasing needs and drive sourcing, vendor, and purchasing decisions.
- Assist internal business partners with purchase requests, compiling and processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders according to established procedures.
- Manage urgent purchase requests and independently prioritize tasks.
- Mitigate purchasing, delivery, and/or lead time issues.
- Support the implementation of technology to enable more efficient purchasing.
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams and vendors, communicating pricing and performance needs.
- Analyze spend and determine future supply needs to support procurement activities.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recommend preferred vendors and consolidation opportunities.
- Lead meetings with internal stakeholders to drive efficient processes and ensure procedure compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or life sciences.
- 4 years of experience in finance, buyer, or purchasing roles.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all organizational levels.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Suite skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a purchasing-related role at a biotech company.
Pay
- Wisconsin: $65,000 USD - $75,000 USD
- California: $70,000 USD - $85,000 USD
