About the role
OUC - The Reliable One is seeking a Senior Business Support Specialist (Billing Quality Assurance) to join the Customer Experience & Sales division. The role involves delivering high-quality data validation, operational insights, and reporting, managing billing and rate processes, and supporting various projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality data validation, operational insights, and reporting using SQL, Excel, Cognos, Power BI, and other enterprise systems
- Maintain and improve tools that keep billing and rate processes accurate, including dashboards, spreadsheets, and ad-hoc analysis used across the department
- Manage annual billing schedules and rate updates for OUC and key municipal partners, ensuring everything is implemented correctly and on time
- Support testing, quality checks, and process documentation for major system changes and cross-functional projects
- Monitor exceptions and revenue-loss scenarios, helping protect organizational accuracy and financial integrity
- Serve as an advisor and subject-matter partner to analysts, trainers, and leadership, translating complex operational data into clear guidance and decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or other field related to the area of assignment from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of four (4) years of providing support to business operations, to include one or more of the following responsibilities: leading projects, programs, and/or teams, budget/accounting coordination, financial data research, developing operational reports, and/or analysis of business operations
- Utility experience, preferred; Additional experience in the functional area of assignment may be preferred
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of ERP software and specialty software programs used to assemble business operations data in the functional area of assignment (billing, budget, accounting, workforce management, etc.)
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
- Analyzing business operations and financial data, identifying problems/opportunities, interpreting policies, and proposing solutions
- Prioritize and coordinate multiple projects to meet deadlines
- Lead projects/processes and provide related guidance and training to other employees
- Understand and apply technical and regulatory knowledge in the functional area of assignment
- Develop a variety of reports, documents, manuals, and guides for the functional area of assignment
- Understand and apply governmental accounting practices in the maintenance of financial records
- Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; compute rates, ratios and percentages
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.)

Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.077 to $47.596 per hour, commensurate with experience. OUC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including low-cost medical, dental, and vision benefits, retirement benefits, and paid time off.
