Senior Business Intelligence Specialist
About the role
The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist II (IT Spec II) to manage the Business Intelligence (BI) project delivery. This role involves learning about CalPERS Investment business data, extracting business value from data, and driving the data mission using the CalPERS Investment data & analytics platform.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Business Intelligence (BI) project delivery, including requirement gathering, designing and developing BI and analytics dashboards, designing, developing, and testing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) jobs, and performing data platform modernization.
- Support multiple data analytics projects and self-service data delivery.
- Contribute to high-impact projects that shape CalPERS' investment strategies.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in managing Business Intelligence projects.
- Knowledge of data platforms and related technologies.
- Ability to design and develop BI and analytics dashboards.
- Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
- Experience with data platform modernization.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Snowflake, DBT, Prefect, Ataccama, Quest data modeling, and Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data integration and analytics.

Benefits
CalPERS offers competitive benefit packages, compensation, and opportunities for advancement. The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
Pay
$8,625.00 - $11,557.00
