About the Role

The Senior Business Banker develops and oversees a Business Banking Portfolio, focusing on growing and developing small business relationships. Responsibilities include offering deposit services, facilitating business loans up to $2,000,000, and providing additional services such as treasury management.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in business development to attract profitable new business (typically small businesses with less than $5 million in revenue and owner-occupied commercial real estate) for Everwise.
  • Screen and interview applicants to assess financial needs and perform financial modeling as needed.
  • Gather required information to compile comprehensive loan packages for decisioning.
  • Conduct and lead joint calls with MicroLenders, Business Bankers, Treasury Management, and other internal stakeholders for small businesses.
  • Actively lead the closing of small-balance loans, ensuring proper documentation, signatures, and fund disbursement.
  • Proactively administer loan portfolios, deposit accounts, collections, and associated documentation.
  • Provide mentorship to MicroLenders and Business Bankers.
  • Participate in professional community relationships to enhance Everwise’s visibility and secure new business opportunities.
  • Introduce and maintain working knowledge of additional financial services (e.g., Commercial, Cash Management, Mortgage, and Retail Services) to enhance member relationships.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of product offerings and coordinate with other areas to grow the portfolio and deliver excellent service.
  • Uphold government laws, regulations, and Everwise’s policies concerning Anti-Money Laundering (AML), including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT Act, and OFAC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in financial services, with a minimum of 2+ years in business banking or commercial lending.
  • Solid understanding of SBA lending.
  • Proficiency with commercial financial software and the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to organize and participate in community service and promotional events to foster personal development and enhance Everwise’s reputation.
