Senior Business Analyst - Insights & Analytics (ERM)

Join Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) at Capital One, the center of risk management for the company. As part of the Insights & Analytics team, you will shape complex analysis and reporting into actionable insights for executive leaders. Responsibilities

• Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement, using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations.
• Apply problem frameworks, develop hypotheses, test and analyze data, develop solutions, assess operational feasibility, lead implementation, and create monitoring plans.
• Partner with colleagues across the Risk Organization and business units to measure, analyze, and drive risk management outcomes.
• Demonstrate strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity with a data-driven, yet aggressive and responsible approach to decision-making.
• Communicate insights effectively through impeccable written and oral communication, strategic influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Drive results with a focus on both short- and long-term goals in an uncertain and dynamic environment.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting (previous consulting experience is a plus).

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis.
• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following degrees (to be completed on or before the scheduled start date):
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field).
  • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, or Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in statistical model building.
• 1+ years of experience in market research.
• 1+ years of experience in SQL querying.
• 2+ years of experience in business analysis.
• 1+ years of experience in consulting.

Pay

The annual full-time salary ranges for this role are as follows (part-time salaries will be prorated):

• McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900
• Richmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
