Responsibilities
- Lead building enclosure, façade, roofing, and waterproofing consulting projects from investigation through construction administration.
- Perform building envelope assessments, condition surveys, leak investigations, and forensic evaluations.
- Develop repair and restoration solutions for existing building enclosure systems.
- Review enclosure designs and details for new construction projects.
- Prepare technical reports, repair drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Conduct field inspections, testing, and construction observations.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, developers, and owners to develop high-performance building enclosure solutions.
- Research applicable building codes, industry standards, and best practices.
- Lead client meetings and present technical findings and recommendations.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables.
- Prepare proposals and support business development initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers, architects, and consultants.
Requirements
- 6-12 years of experience in building envelope consulting, building science, façade engineering, restoration, roofing, waterproofing, or building diagnostics.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license required.
- Strong project management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, project teams, and client relationships.
- Experience leading projects from investigation and design through construction administration and closeout.
- Strong understanding of exterior wall systems, curtain walls, cladding systems, roofing assemblies, below-grade waterproofing, air barriers, moisture control, and thermal performance.
- Experience performing building envelope investigations, condition assessments, forensic evaluations, and developing repair solutions.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience with building performance and enclosure modeling software (e.g., WUFI, THERM, EnergyPlus, IES-VE, Rhino, Grasshopper, DesignBuilder) is preferred.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience developing client relationships and contributing to business development efforts.
- Experience mentoring and supporting junior staff.
- Willingness to travel for site investigations and project support.
