Senior Budget - Financial Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Budget/Financial Analyst to provide expert financial analysis and advisory support to government leadership responsible for planning and programming space acquisition investments under the SAF/SQ program.
About the Role
Join us in our fast-paced support to develop, advance, and sustain weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners. You will be joining a team of personnel with experience and an in-depth understanding of the environments that include ground, near-space, space, and any system that operates in those environments to meet current and projected strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense (DoD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of space acquisition program budgets across the PPBE cycle, including POM development and budget exhibit preparation
- Evaluate funding requests, unfunded requirements, and program execution data to develop recommendations for senior decision-makers
- Assess program financial health including spend plans, obligation rates, cost variance trends, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) data
- Provide inputs and support on programmatic and financial status reporting of individual projects, programs, or portfolios
- Develop and maintain financial databases, dashboards, and briefing materials for use in senior leadership reviews and congressional engagements
- Analyze and interpret financial policy guidance from OSD, OMB, and SAF/FM; advise program offices on compliance and best practices
- Support preparation of budget justification books, issue papers, and program decision memoranda
- Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations; support risk identification and financial risk mitigation planning
- Cook up with program managers, comptrollers, and contracting personnel to track funding execution and address financial anomalies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field; 10+ years of DoD financial management or budget analysis experience
- Strong working knowledge of the DoD PPBE process, including POM development and congressional budget justification
- Proficiency with DoD financial management systems such as ABIDES, SAP, or equivalent platforms
- Experience developing financial briefings and written products for senior government audiences
- Knowledgeable with respect to DoD, Air Force, and Space Force financial management policies and procedures
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
Qualifications

Pay
The salary range for this role is $160,000 - 180,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
