About the role

As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape systems that support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities, and quality of life. From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports, and marine infrastructure, your work will directly impact communities. This role involves collaboration with planners, engineers, architects, construction management staff, environmental specialists, economists, and management consultants to solve complex mobility challenges with innovation and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Work independently within a specific discipline, without direction from an Architect/Engineer or other technical professional.
• Be responsible for the discipline model, generating BIM elements based on the Level of Development (LOD) outlined in the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project scope.
• Create and maintain the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for the discipline.
• Demonstrate mastery of the software used to produce designs identified in the Digital Delivery requirements.
• Apply an advanced understanding of architectural/engineering documentation and plan presentation for all disciplines.
• Mentor and develop Digital Design staff within the discipline.
• Accurately model BIM elements within the spatial constraints of the modeling environment using current 3D software.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams within project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Maintain the discipline model, including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets.
• Produce discipline-specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output.
• Monitor, improve, and maintain company standards and model health.
• Coordinate design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and 3D Coordination processes.
• Execute all Digital Delivery requirements identified on the project.
• Contribute to the development of business-class digital needs.

Requirements

• Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of related industry experience.
• Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Advanced skillset in 3D Coordination tools.
• Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
• Knowledge of industry standards, practices, discipline codes, and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational traits.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Technology.
• Previous experience on Department of Transportation (DOT) projects.

Pay

Expected compensation range for this position: $87,210–$117,990 (Nevada). Range depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.

Full-time, regular employee status.
