Senior BIM Modeler

About the role

Join Hilscher-Clarke as a full-time BIM Modeler at our Pataskala, Ohio office. We're a family-like team delivering excellence in various projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide additional modeling horsepower to our team in Revit.
• Model content on a daily basis, including conduit (EMT overhead, PVC underground), electrical switchgear, panelboards, transformers, control cabinets, fire alarm cabinets, light fixtures, duct banks, vaults, handholes, pull boxes, hangers, prefabrication racks, skids, light fixtures designed by the Canton team.
• Support team members with Revit-related questions, from basics to advanced modeling techniques.
• Support team members with Trimble layout procedures, providing backgrounds to the field via Trimble field link office and updating our central model as needed.
• Support team members with electrical code requirements and install feasibility questions.
• Support team members with electrical cut sheets, including proper layout of entry locations for conduits, cable bus, bus duct, and clearances.
• Support team members with electrical cut sheets referencing content to be placed in the model, such as lights, panelboards, transformers, cable tray, ladder tray, hangers, equipment racks.
• Support team members with electrical print reading, extracting information from Bluebeam markups, and creating comprehensive installation and prefab drawings.
• Create viewpoints in Navis for our team to fix clashes and resolve them.
• Work with other trade BIM technicians/modelers to find solutions for coordination efforts.
• Communicate with project management and field teams as necessary.

Requirements

• Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and BIM coordination.
• Experience with BIM Collaborate Pro and other collaboration software.
• Experience with Trimble layout procedures and BIM 360.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam and other project management tools.
• Capable of interpreting and understanding contract documents.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, including conduit systems, electrical gear, and prefabrication.
• Strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Sheets, and similar tools.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience in electrical systems and BIM coordination is preferred.
