Key Responsibilities
- Administer all benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
- Manage new-hire benefit onboarding, qualifying life event changes, and annual open enrollment
- Partner with HR on benefit communications, employee education, and policy updates
- Respond to employee benefit inquiries and provide high-quality service
- Maintain benefit records and ensure data accuracy across HRIS and payroll systems
- Cook up benefit carrier files, reconciliations, and invoice reviews
- Serve as backup for payroll processing during absences or peak periods
- Aid in payroll data validation related to benefit deductions and adjustments
- Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to ensure benefit-related payroll impacts are accurate
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of benefits administration experience (payroll experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of benefit regulations and compliance (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA)
- Experience supporting annual compliance cycles such as ACA reporting, 401(k) audits, and open enrollment
- Experience with HRIS platforms (UKG preferred) and benefits administration or carrier systems
- Strong analytical skills, including audit support and data validation
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and employee service
- Strong communication skills with employees, vendors, and cross-functional teams
