About the role

This role is responsible for uncovering personal banking needs of both individual and small business clients, offering appropriate solutions, and connecting clients to specialists. Key responsibilities include balancing service requests and transactional activities such as in-person or inbound call delivery, proactively engaging clients, and handling complex and diverse client interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deepen client relationships by uncovering financial needs and recommending products, services, and solutions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns with customized solutions
  • Introduce and fulfill banking products (e.g., checking & savings accounts, credit cards, CDs, IRAs, loans)
  • Identify client needs for licensed sales functions and refer to partners (Merrill, Lending, & Small Business)
  • Quote rates, terms, and programs for banking solutions
  • Manage risk in every transaction using available tools
  • Leverage prior expertise to interact with clients with complex financial needs
  • Partner with teams to provide consumer and small business solutions, services, and strategies
  • Assist, educate, and train clients on self-service technologies for simple transactions
  • Optimize the client experience through resources, technologies, and processes
  • Adhere to established processes, laws, and guidelines (e.g., account opening, maintenance, Digital Assisted Shopping)
  • Manage client interactions by taking the best course of action for the bank and clients while meeting regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year demonstrated sales experience in a relationship-oriented, client-centric environment
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and focus on results
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships
  • Passion, commitment, and drive to improve clients' financial lives
  • Confidence in identifying solutions for new and existing clients based on their needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging clients in-person and by phone
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new information, technology platforms, and changing circumstances
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meet clients' needs
  • Effective time management, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • Commissioned notary or ability to obtain a notary commission in your state within a few months of start date
  • Must be able to work weekends and/or extended hours, including being scheduled at any financial center within a reasonable distance

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or a related field (desired)
  • Experience working in a financial center where goals were met or exceeded (desired)
  • Retail and/or sales experience in a salary plus incentive environment (desired)
  • Experience with individual and/or team goals where goals were routinely met or exceeded (desired)
  • Experience with financial information, spreadsheets, and financial skills (desired)
  • Knowledge of banking products and services (desired)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications and laptop technology (desired)
