Senior Backend Software Engineer, Tools & Agents

About the role

We are hiring a product-minded senior backend engineer to build and own the platform and integration surfaces that bring our video-understanding capabilities to developers and AI agents. This includes APIs, agent-facing interfaces, authentication, authorization, and multi-tenancy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own developer- and agent-facing surfaces: public/partner APIs, MCP, agent-to-agent protocols
• Build authentication and authorization substrate (OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, team scoping)
• Ship enterprise-readiness: organization support, per-API-key usage tracking, metering, rate limiting
• Maintain platform reliability and scalability (SLOs, failure hardening, multi-tenancy health)
• Ship fast with high craftsmanship; collaborate with engineering and research teams

Requirements

• 6+ years backend engineering experience building production services/APIs at scale
• Track record owning developer-facing or platform surfaces (public APIs, SDKs, integration layers)
• Hands-on with authentication/authorization (OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, multi-tenancy isolation)
• Experience building enterprise/SaaS platform features (org/team models, usage metering, rate limiting)
• Demonstrable experience with agentic systems (MCP, function-calling, LLM-driven apps)

Preferred Qualifications

• Shipped an agent or LLM-powered product with real users
• Taken a product from early access to enterprise-grade (auth, multi-tenancy, reliability)
• Contributed to agent tooling ecosystem (open-source MCP servers, agent frameworks)

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $180K – $220K
