Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to support mission-critical programs in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This part-time role involves software development activities including testing, documentation, Agile practices, and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of test procedures for software components.
- Generate technical documentation.
- Work within an Agile development environment.
- Support software development activities using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Utilize tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Ensure quality control of developed and modified software.
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
- Debug existing software and correct defects.
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
- Develop data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
- Write or review software and system documentation.
- Develop or implement database or data repository interfaces and queries.
- Develop or implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards.
- Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
- Recommend and implement improvements to documentation and software development process standards.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience supporting the development and execution of test procedures for software components.
- Experience generating technical documentation.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience ensuring quality control of developed and modified software.
Schedule
- Part-time employment.
- Telework: Up to 16 hours per week (dependent on sprint tasking).
