About the role

This is an onsite role based in Miami, FL. Capgemini is hiring an Onsite Senior Scala Developer to work with a scrum team in an onshore-offshore delivery model.

  • Navigate stakeholder expectations while ensuring alignment on technical deliverables.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Build distributed and reactive systems using Scala, Play Framework, and Akka.
  • Develop backend services and microservices using Scala and Play Framework.
  • Implement reactive systems leveraging Akka and distributed architecture patterns.
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs.
  • Optimize MySQL and Oracle databases to ensure application performance and scalability.
  • Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability across distributed applications.
  • Write unit and integration tests to maintain application quality and stability.
  • Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code following best development practices.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and software quality guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
  • Conceptualize latest technology landscape requirements and drive technical solutions.
  • Work in a team covering business and technology with representatives from client to produce overall quality delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of solid experience in backend application development with a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on Scala development experience.
  • Experience working in Agile projects.
  • Strong understanding of various technology components and their capabilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking to examine data flow and connect components/networks in an efficient manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical challenges and provide effective solutions and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of activities across every phase of delivery from requirement analysis to product release and post-production support.
  • Hands-on experience and expertise with Scala, Play Framework, and Akka.
  • Strong experience designing and developing distributed and reactive systems.
  • Experience building and supporting Microservices Architecture.
  • Expertise working with MySQL and Oracle databases, including performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, design patterns, and distributed computing concepts.
  • Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and implementing quality assurance best practices.
  • Experience using version control tools such as GIT.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Amazon EKS and containerized application deployments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in performance testing and application tuning.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in Miami, FL is $82,082 to $193,440. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The actual compensation offered may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, market considerations, and internal pay equity.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
