Senior Backend Engineer: Financial Data

Responsibilities

• Own critical data infrastructure: Ingest, transform, and serve financial datasets reliably.
• Architect for scale and performance: Design and build highly scalable, cost-effective data processing pipelines.
• Drive data integration: Connect diverse financial datasets into cohesive platforms.
• Enable AI with great data: Ensure financial data is structured and reliable for Rogo's AI models.
• Handle customer data with care: Build secure, compliant integrations for enterprise customers.
• Raise the bar: Write high-quality code and lead by example.
• Cultural anchor: Foster a culture of learning and ownership within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years with GCP or equivalent cloud stack.
• Deep expertise in Python and proficiency in a strongly typed language like Rust, C++, or Java.
• Strong background in relational and NoSQL databases, with experience in large-scale data pipelines.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for corporate finance, capital markets, and financial data.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GCP or similar cloud stack.
• Mastery in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Track record of shipping high-quality products in fast-paced, unstructured environments.

Skills

• Strong programming skills in Python and a strongly typed language.
