Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate distributed data-intensive backend systems for various Data Platform capabilities
- Own and enhance production data infrastructures, including both streaming and batch pipelines
- Debug complex production issues across data pipelines and cloud infrastructure and participate in on-call rotation
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver reliable data capabilities for customers
- Contribute to architectural decisions and make trade-offs concerning scalability and reliability
- Enhance engineering standards, testing, deployment safety, and operational processes for Data Platform systems
- Write maintainable code and engage in code reviews and production readiness discussions
Qualifications
- 6+ years of backend software engineering experience with emphasis on distributed systems or data-intensive platforms
- Proven experience in building, operating, and debugging production systems for large data volumes
- Hands-on knowledge of data pipeline, streaming, or batch-processing tools like Kinesis, Airflow, or Spark
- Familiarity with analytical and operational data storage solutions, particularly ClickHouse and Postgres
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, SQL, or Scala
- Understanding of backend engineering concepts like concurrency, data modeling, and high-throughput processing
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) and observability tools (e.g., Datadog)
