Senior Backend Engineer, Compliance Engineering

This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.

Responsibilities

• Shape the company’s platforms for evolving privacy, security, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to create compliant experiences for users
• Influence technical and product strategy within a high-visibility team
• Own product areas from design to launch, including analysis and experimentation
• Lead high-impact initiatives vital to the company’s business integrity
• Enhance engineering standards by improving workflows and mentoring engineers

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development experience in a multi-stack environment, including Go, Python, Postgres, and Redis
• Demonstrated experience as a tech lead for teams of 3+ backend engineers
• Proven ability to design and implement complex distributed systems under high load
• Self-directed and innovative, thriving in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration in a fully-remote setting
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional projects is preferred

Pay

$190,800 – $267,100 annually
