Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our team and take ownership of different parts of our stack. You will be working alongside our CTO on all aspects of the current product and future product development. You will work directly with the founding team and leverage your experiences and abilities to inform decisions from product, technology, and strategy. You will help us build the foundation of this company: its culture, its processes, and its practices.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and ship code in production.
• Use Generative AI tools on a daily basis to enhance the quality and efficacy of your software and non-software deliverables.
• Evaluate and make technical architecture decisions with a long-term view, optimizing for speed, quality, and safety.
• Take pride in the product you create and the code that you write.
• Work well on a team of sales executives, designers, and engineers in an in-person environment.
• Communicate openly and solicit feedback on important decisions, keeping the team aligned on your rationale.
• Exercise an optimistic mindset and be willing to go the extra mile to make things work.

Requirements

• Expertise in Python, Terraform, and GCP.
• Experience with Node.js, NuxtJS, Express.js, or Python.
• Experience with Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Vercel.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, Go, RPCs (REST, gRPC, or GraphQL), databases (SQL, NoSQL, Postgres, MongoDB, or Firebase), CI/CD (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab), source code versioning tools (Git or Perforce), microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with AI Platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Vertex AI, Bedrock, or SageMaker).
• Experience with building enterprise-scale applications with >99% SLAs.

Qualifications

• Self-starter and enjoys working with minimal supervision.
• Passionate about the enterprise software development lifecycle and feels strongly about improving it.
• First principles engineer who exercises curiosity about the technologies you work with.
• Can learn quickly about technologies, software, and code that you are not familiar with, often from rudimentary documentation.
• Takes ownership of the code that you write, and helps the team operate with everything that you build, throughout its lifecycle.

$160,000 - $220,000
