About the Role

As a Senior Azure Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will bridge development and operations through collaboration, infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and systems maintenance. This role requires excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders, understand their needs, and convey progress. You will lead infrastructure projects end-to-end—from problem definition and technical design through implementation, rollout, documentation, and operational ownership. Carrum is modernizing its cloud architecture and building a scalable, compliant Azure foundation for future enterprise growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement best-practice IaC solutions, automating the deployment, scaling, and management of application infrastructure.
• Maintain systems to meet company needs and lead incident response and root cause analysis efforts to ensure quick issue resolution and prevention.
• Integrate security best practices into the infrastructure lifecycle to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
• Create comprehensive documentation of technical procedures, configurations, and deployed solution architectures.
• Work cross-functionally with teams to prevent and solve problems impacting our patients.
• Act as a peer leader and expert on our cloud-based infrastructure platform, advancing its maturity while keeping it simple and intelligent.
• Take ownership of code development and release frequently into production.
• Write clear documentation so others can utilize the components you build.
• Channel your inner product manager through well-written stories to inform our backlog and create great products; occasionally create your own tickets.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and/or site reliability engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., AKS, EKS) and supporting deployment models, monitoring, and observability.
• Expertise in launching full-stack applications and data ecosystems using technologies such as: GitHub Actions, Azure Terraform Modules, Azure Landing Zones, Azure Networking, Azure App Insights, Azure Front Door, Azure PLDMC Services, and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience scaling platforms on Azure with a thorough understanding of reference architectures and industry best practices.
• Expertise in implementing DevOps culture and fostering collaboration between development and operations teams.
• Experience designing monitoring solutions for cloud infrastructure management.
• Passion for working with engineering teams to identify where cloud infrastructure and pipeline automation can solve problems.
• Experience optimizing system reliability, scalability, and performance through DevOps methodologies.
• Ability to identify, prioritize, and solve problems, and comfortably share recommendations with team members and leaders.
• Strong interpersonal skills; empathetic, courteous, and friendly.
• Experience in the healthcare space is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications: AZ-400: Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Docker Certified Associate, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, or security certifications related to Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud technologies. • Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic, Datadog, and CloudWatch.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $160K–$200K, depending on geography and level of experience, plus possible equity and an annual bonus.
