About the role

CGI is seeking a Senior AWS Full Stack Software Engineer to develop, modernize, and support enterprise applications within a large scale, AWS focused financial services environment. This is a hands-on engineering role working across backend services, web applications, cloud infrastructure, databases, automated testing, CI/CD, and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications using Java, Python, Spring Boot, Angular, and TypeScript.
  • Build and maintain AWS based applications using services such as ECS, Lambda, RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS, and SNS.
  • Develop REST APIs, microservices, batch processes, enterprise integrations, and frontend components.
  • Work with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, including query optimization, troubleshooting, and data integration.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot applications running on JBoss/WildFly and container-based platforms.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated builds, testing, security scanning, deployments, and releases.
  • Use Docker, Kubernetes/ECS, Terraform, CloudFormation, and related DevOps tooling to support application delivery and environment automation.
  • Identify and remediate application vulnerabilities, outdated dependencies, code quality issues, and technical debt.
  • Develop automated unit, integration, API, and UI tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Karate, Selenium, and Playwright.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across applications, APIs, AWS services, databases, messaging, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Apply specification driven development practices to translate business and technical requirements into implementation and testing plans.
  • Use AI assisted development tools responsibly for coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and engineering productivity while validating outputs for security and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with product, QA, security, DevOps, infrastructure, and other engineering teams in an Agile delivery environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience, preferably with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and/or Spring Batch.
  • 5+ years of AWS experience with services such as ECS, Lambda, RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS, and SNS.
  • Full stack development experience with Angular and TypeScript.
  • Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, batch applications, and enterprise integrations.
  • Working proficiency with Python for application development, automation, or supporting services.
  • Strong relational database experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL and Oracle/Oracle RDS, including SQL troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Maven, Gradle, or comparable tooling.
  • Hands on experience with Docker and containerized deployments, including AWS ECS and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting applications on JBoss/WildFly or similar enterprise application servers.
  • Understanding of secure coding, vulnerability remediation, dependency management, and security scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automated testing experience using JUnit, Mockito, Karate, Selenium, Playwright, or comparable frameworks.
  • Experience troubleshooting distributed applications across cloud services, APIs, databases, messaging platforms, and application infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with specification driven development and translating requirements into technical specifications, test scenarios, and implementation plans.
  • Practical experience using AI assisted software development tools, with an understanding of enterprise security, privacy, and code validation requirements.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across engineering, QA, security, DevOps, infrastructure, and business teams.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Pay

$89,600.00 - $156,700.00

Schedule

Hybrid working model is acceptable. The role is located at a client site in either Knoxville, TN, Columbia SC or Lafayette, LA or Birmingham, AL.
