Senior Automotive Technician - Watertown, NY

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of automotive systems, including: suspension, steering, alignment, coolant systems, engines, electrical, and/or transmissions.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
  • Continuously learns new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay up to date with rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Keep advisor aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

Requirements

  • Valid New York State Inspectors License.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, transmission diagnostics, and/or engine performance.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Able to work independently with appropriate time management.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Driver's License.

Qualifications

  • Previous Chevrolet, Buick, and/or GMC dealership experience is preferred.
  • ASE Certifications are preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to occasionally perform repetitive motion tasks such as typing on a computer, writing on documents, using common hand tools.
  • The ability to regularly traverse areas throughout the dealership.
  • The ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time.
