Senior Automotive Technician

About the role

Auto Techs are essential to ensuring scheduled maintenance and repairs are provided with the highest quality standards within the expected timeframe. The Senior Automotive Technician diagnoses and repairs customer vehicles efficiently while adhering to MAP guidelines and company repair standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles according to certification level and experience.
• Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Handle complex and heavy-duty repairs.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including managers, consultants, and customers.
• Recommend necessary services to maintain customer vehicles; document all recommendations in customer files.
• Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to the direct supervisor.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Work flexible schedules, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Previous automotive technician/mechanic experience required.
• ASE certifications may substitute for experience.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school experience preferred.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous/non-hazardous materials.
• Work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat or cold.
• Safety goggles or other PPE may be required.

Physical Demands

• Stand up to eight hours per day and walk to access various areas of the building.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; full range of motion in arms and hands.
• Frequently feel, handle, or finger objects.
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds frequently.
• Communicate effectively with customers and shop personnel.
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.

Pay

$65,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
