Senior Automotive Technician

TGK Automotive Specialists has been providing honest and reliable service since 2007. We offer immediate openings for Auto Repair Techs who can handle multiple repairs with a seasoned team. Our Senior Automotive Technicians are responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles according to MAP guidelines and company standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Automotive Technician is responsible for:
- Diagnosing vehicles according to appropriate certifications/experience
- Performing work as outlined on inspection and repair orders with efficiency and accuracy
- Performing complex and heavy-duty repairs
- Explaining technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals
- Recommending necessary services to keep the vehicle in running condition and documenting recommendations in the customer file
- Following all safety procedures and reporting concerns to the supervisor
- Adhering to Sun Auto’s core values and company policies
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
- Previous automotive technician/mechanic experience
- ASE certifications in lieu of experience
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics
- Valid driver’s license
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school experience preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The Senior Automotive Technician will be exposed to:
- Moderate to loud noises
- Dust
- Exhaust fumes
- Lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, and caustic materials
- Hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Extreme heat and/or cold depending on ambient temperatures
The Senior Automotive Technician must be able to:
- Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop
- Walk to access various areas of the building
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly
- Have full range of motion with arms and hands
- Feel, handle, or finger objects frequently
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently
