Senior Automotive Technician

We have immediate openings for motivated Auto Repair Technicians to handle multiple repairs throughout the day alongside a seasoned staff.
About the Role
Auto Techs are essential in our shops to ensure scheduled maintenance and repairs are provided with the highest quality standards in the client’s expected timeframe. The Senior Automotive Technician diagnoses and repairs customer vehicles while adhering to MAP guidelines and dealership, manufacturer, and company repair standards.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience
- Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy
- Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs
- Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including Store Manager, Service Consultants, and customers
- Recommend services necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly document all recommendations in the customer file
- Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to direct supervisor
- Adhere to Sun Auto’s core values and all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Requirements
- Previous automotive technician/mechanic experience required
- ASE certifications in lieu of experience
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics
- Valid Driver’s license
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School experience preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat and/or cold depending on ambient temperatures outside
- Use of safety goggles or other PPE may be required
- Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and walk to access various areas of the building
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; full range of motion with arms and hands required
- Frequently feel, handle, or finger objects
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently
- Communicate with customers and shop personnel
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus

Pay
$85,000/year – $120,000/year, depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule
Flexible schedules, Monday – Friday
