Who We Are The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products. The Gill Corporation is seeking a Senior Automation Engineering Manager to direct, coordinate, plan, and organize engineering activities. The team will be responsible for establishing and implementing the automation strategy. Reporting to the COO, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities. Responsibilities Achieve the corporate annual goalsTeam management including direct reports, cross functional indirect and sub-contractorsUnderstand, evaluate and document the current manufacturing operations related to automationEstablish an automation roadmap and implementation strategyEstablish and achieve business metrics such as: project schedule, cost and savingsDocument and manage process improvement projectsLead Continuous Improvement projects to increase labor efficiency, increase yield and reduce scrapDevelop, budget and manage capital expenditure projectsWork directly with vendors to design and implement automation equipmentDrive cost reduction year over year savingsIncrease equipment throughput and capacityEliminate waste of raw materials, utilities, staffing, and other company resources wherever possibleContinually assess, develop and staff the subordinate groups with the talent necessary to operate at a high level of accuracy and productivityMentor other Gill personnel to help navigate Gill processes, policies and procedures and set them up for successOther essential duties may be assigned. Required Qualifications B.S. degree in Engineering; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plusFifteen (15) years Engineering Leadership experience in a manufacturing/process environmentKnowledge of mechanical, electrical and chemical systems used in industrial settingsUnderstanding of capital justification, procurement, and installation processes Software – proficiency in: MS-Office, Smartsheet, CAD software, & SAP a plusDoD Security Clearance a plus PLEASE NOTE: Certain positions may require the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
