Senior Automation Controls Engineer

GXO Logistics is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design, programming and optimization of advanced automation within our distribution and fulfillment centers. In this role, you will architect PLC, HMI and industrial networks, integrate conveyors, sorters and robotics, and drive high system uptime and safety. You'll own commissioning, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of control systems, partnering with operations, IT and vendors. Responsibilities Design and program PLC, HMI and control systems for automated warehouse operations.Lead commissioning, testing and start up of new automation and conveyor systems.Troubleshoot control system issues to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.Integrate robotics, conveyors, sorters and safety systems with warehouse control software.Develop and maintain electrical schematics, network layouts and documentation.Collaborate with operations, IT and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data and root cause analysis.Ensure compliance with safety, electrical and industry standards across facilities.
