Senior Auditor

About the role

This is a key role working with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, offering the opportunity to lead audit assignments, work closely with clients, and support the development of junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for planning and delivering audit assignments from start to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant standards while providing practical insight to clients.
• Preparing audit files, workpapers, and completion reports.
• Identifying risk areas and ensuring compliance with audit and accounting standards.
• Presenting audit findings and recommendations to clients and senior management.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Managing multiple assignments and meeting agreed deadlines.

Requirements

• An ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong practical audit experience within an accountancy practice environment.
• Good technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting standards.
• Experience preparing audit documentation and completion reports.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with audit software and cloud accounting systems is beneficial.

Qualifications

Pay

Salary will depend on experience and current level of responsibility. £45,000 – £52,000.

Schedule

Full-time | Office-based with client interaction.
