About the role
This position offers the opportunity to work with non-profit organizations and affordable housing entities. The Audit Senior will lead engagement fieldwork, supervise staff, and work closely with the owner to provide high-quality audit and assurance services.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform financial statement audits, reviews, and compliance engagements.
- Prepare and review audit workpapers and financial statements.
- Supervise, mentor, and train audit staff during engagements.
- Evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management and those charged with governance.
- Maintain strong client relationships through responsive and professional service.
- Collaborate with managers and partners to ensure engagements are completed efficiently and in accordance with professional standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification required.
- Minimum of three years of audit and accounting experience in public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting/audit software.
