About the role

A well-established, growth-oriented public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to support its audit and assurance practice. This role will serve as a key member of the engagement team, providing leadership in the execution of audits and maintaining high standards of client service. The position offers strong exposure to a variety of engagements and the opportunity to mentor and develop junior staff. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day engagement activities to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
  • Coordinate and plan engagement phases, including budgeting time and expenses and monitoring performance
  • Supervise staff and review workpapers for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including evaluation of presentation and disclosures
  • Lead audit planning and fieldwork, and communicate findings and recommendations to client management
  • Serve as the primary "in-charge" field representative on engagements
  • Take ownership of assigned engagement areas and drive them through completion
  • Apply analytical judgment to identify, evaluate, and resolve quantitative and qualitative variances
  • Leverage prior engagement experience to address current issues effectively
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Travel to client sites as required (varies by engagement)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
  • CPA license or active pursuit of licensure
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on audit and assurance
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills (including lookups and pivot tables)
  • Familiarity with common accounting and audit software platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, CCH systems preferred)

Pay

$80,000 - $100,000 per year
