About the role
The Senior Audit Associate at Rea plays a crucial role in preparing financial statements, applying GAAP, and ensuring adherence to professional standards. This position focuses on Assurance engagements and requires a strong foundation in accounting principles and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements with disclosures
- Document and research basic and intermediate areas of accounting
- Support the development of conclusions with authoritative literature
- Develop and apply an intermediate knowledge of auditing theory
- Identify deviations and notify more senior team members for approval
- Contribute ideas and opinions to engagement teams
- Document and validate the operating effectiveness of clients' internal control systems
- Research and form initial opinions on accounting topics
- Complete Rea work papers and ensure compliance with methodology
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field
- Masters in Accountancy or a relevant field preferred
- Two (2) or more years of relevant experience
- Basic supervisory experience preferred
- CPA certification preferred
- Ability to travel as needed
