About the role

The Senior Audit Associate at Rea plays a crucial role in preparing financial statements, applying GAAP, and ensuring adherence to professional standards. This position focuses on Assurance engagements and requires a strong foundation in accounting principles and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements with disclosures
  • Document and research basic and intermediate areas of accounting
  • Support the development of conclusions with authoritative literature
  • Develop and apply an intermediate knowledge of auditing theory
  • Identify deviations and notify more senior team members for approval
  • Contribute ideas and opinions to engagement teams
  • Document and validate the operating effectiveness of clients' internal control systems
  • Research and form initial opinions on accounting topics
  • Complete Rea work papers and ensure compliance with methodology

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field
  • Masters in Accountancy or a relevant field preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of relevant experience
  • Basic supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Basic understanding and experience in planning and coordinating audits
