About the role
The Senior Audit Associate at Rea plays a crucial role in preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying basic areas of GAAP, and documenting and researching. This position focuses on Assurance and involves supporting the team in drafting basic sets of financial statements, researching intermediate areas of accounting, and contributing to the engagement teams.
Responsibilities
- Utilize educational background and communication skills to assist with the preparation of financial statements with disclosures.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of GAAP and professional standards to support conclusions and document findings.
- Develop and apply auditing theory to various client situations and document findings in line with Rea policy.
- Identify deviations and suggest improvements to client internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Contribute ideas and opinions to engagement teams and document methodologies used to deliver quality services.
- Research basic and intermediate accounting topics and form initial opinions on the treatment.
- Work independently and within a group environment, taking appropriate actions and seeking advice when needed.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively, focusing on details and accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a relevant field required.
- Masters in Accountancy or a relevant field preferred.
- Two (2) or more years of relevant experience required.
- Basic supervisory experience preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed.
