About the role

The Senior Attorney/Counsel – Privacy, Emerging Technologies & Digital Media position is part of the Entertainment & Media team at a globally recognized law firm with offices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The firm focuses on strategic legal counsel for clients in healthcare, energy, financial services, life sciences, and media sectors.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on emerging technology, data privacy, advertising, and marketing matters
• Developing privacy and data governance programs
• Conducting privacy assessments and DPIAs
• Drafting privacy policies and notices
• Negotiating data processing agreements
• Advising on emerging issues involving AI, AdTech, health, biometric, and youth data
• Technology and data-driven transactions
• Privacy and product compliance counseling
• Data breach response and related counseling

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Emerging technologies
• Data privacy and cybersecurity
• Advertising and marketing law

Preferred Experience

• Experience in developing privacy and data governance programs
• Experience conducting privacy assessments and DPIAs
• Experience drafting privacy policies and notices
• Experience negotiating data processing agreements
• Experience advising on emerging issues involving AI, AdTech, health, biometric, and youth data

Qualifications

• Active membership in a U.S. state bar (preferably Illinois)
