About the role
This position will be physically based in-person in the Leon County, Florida office for Children’s Legal Services, but the selected candidate will handle cases in both the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit and the Second Judicial Circuit. It is anticipated that the majority of court appearances may be in a virtual platform.
Responsibilities
- Makes a difference in the lives of children by advocating for their safety, well-being, and permanency.
- Primary responsibility for multiple cases, ensuring compliance with Florida and federal legal requirements.
- Collaborates with investigators and case managers to gather evidence necessary for appropriate legal actions.
- Prepares case partners to serve as witnesses at trial.
- Affirms children's rights through best practice litigation techniques, leading national dependency advocacy.
Requirements
- Law Degree
- Minimum of 2 years bar admission
Qualifications
- Multi-week onboarding program provided by CLS.
- Quarterly intensive multi-day New Attorney Training.
- Annual multi-day Advanced Litigation Academy.
- Fulfillment of all CLE requirements through webinars and live trainings.

- Strong legal knowledge
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with litigation and courtroom procedures

Pay
The annual base salary for a full-time permanent appointment is $73,688.42. Total compensation inclusive of the benefits listed above is valued at a minimum of $103,267. Actual total compensation will vary based on insurance and retirement elections.
