About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Associate, Trust Tax to join their Tax practice. This role involves preparing and reviewing fiduciary, charitable, and information reporting returns, using tax preparation software, analyzing and managing a book of business, and interacting with clients and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review fiduciary, charitable and information reporting returns
  • Use tax preparation software - Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Trust Tax platform
  • Analyze, prepare, and review tax workpapers and returns, estimated payments and extensions
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities; stay updated on tax technical developments
  • Manage a book of business and/or supervise the production of tax return preparation by associate tax preparers
  • Notify senior practice management of any issues or problems before they become critical items and assist with driving the growth of tax technical knowledge for the team

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of recent trust tax preparation experience and intermediary knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code as it relates to trusts and estates
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, finance, technology, or data analytics; accounting and taxation is preferred
  • Must be eligible to sit for the CPA or EA or already obtained either
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be a team player and resourceful in delivering high quality work with the ability to independently manage assigned account load; able to interact with team members, remote or in-person

Qualifications
